Here’s what I talk about

Never stop learning. New ideas can take you anywhere you want to go. Want to get rid of politics and build a high performing team? Want to stand out and differentiate yourself from the competition? Looking to amplify talent in your team?

Building a High Performance Culture.

How does Google get people begging and competing to work there? How does Apple get their customers to talk about them all the time?

Most businesses are smart organisations – they have effective strategy, marketing, financial controls and technology infrastructure. Very few medium to large organisations are ‘healthy’ – minimal politics, clarity of goals throughout the organisation, high morale, nearly zero staff turnover, high productivity.

In today’s world of competitive business, being healthy is the main thing that will give businesses the edge over their competitors and make them stand out. And being healthy comes from deliberately building the right culture.

Every organisation has a culture, whether it is explicitly articulated or organically develops over time, every organisation has a set of rules and values that influence and define the way people behave. It affects every part of your organisation from the meetings to the décor, from the people you hire to the profits you make, yet so few organisations spend any time defining and articulating it.

Creating legions of fans.

How does Apple get their customers to sell their products for them and talk about them all the time? How does Zappos continually amaze its customers? Or imagine every one of YOUR employees going to work excited and energised. Bringing their ‘A’ game, solving customer problems and delivering outstanding service. How would that improve your organisation?

The Culture Guy has developed a process called the WOW Framework over the course of a decade studying organisations and the good news is that it is a straightforward framework that anyone can follow. The less good news is that while it is simple to understand the framework, it is not easy to implement. That’s why so few organisations actually manage to do it, but, it is entirely possible to build a service offering that gets your customers talking about you for all the right reasons. A service offering where your entire team is delivering to a consistently high standard that leaves customers amazed every time and that takes so little management you won’t know what to do with your time.

This session covers the ‘whys’ and the ‘hows’ of building an exceptional service culture in your organisation.

Building Innovation Capacity.

Innovation fuels growth. Developing a clear and focussed innovation culture creates a new playing field on which your team can truly perform to their highest level.

Innovation helps your business stand out. Innovation helps see your next market. Your biggest challenge in five years does not currently exist. Keeping innovation at the heart of your business helps you see what’s next before it hits. Innovation ensures you meet customer needs. What matters to buyers is certain to change in the next five years. Not only will they have new technology, but their values and goals will have evolved. Innovation attracts and retains talent. Your ability to gain and retain talent depends on how often your team gets to flex their innovation muscles.

This session covers how to create a culture of innovation in your organisation.

One Job: Amplify Talent.

The world of working with people has become increasingly complex. The old model of transactional human resources no longer produce the results we need.  A new model of autonomy and agile practices where people are released to be brilliant is evolving.  But are you a leader who can navigate this new paradigm?

Some leaders drain all the passion, motivation and capability out of their teams because they need to be the smartest, most capable person in the room. They actively constraint and control the smarts of others, ultimately stifling the flow of ideas. We’ve all worked for people like this.

Other leaders are couldn’t care less who’s the smartest and they don’t flaunt their title and own IQ. They work on fostering a culture of intelligence and innovation in their teams. They are “multipliers” and they know how to get the most of their teams.  They realise their job is to amplify other people’s talent.

This session gives the tools and techniques to make sure you are a multiplier.

Let’s make it happen. Let me know the dates for your event, who is attending, and what content you are looking for and I can get it booked in.
