How do you feel today?
We pay for the emotion of watching our team play.
We pay for the emotion of attending a great festival. Sharing incredible moments with our community.
We buy things because of how they make us feel. Clothes that increase our confidence.
We listen to podcasts and music to feel – angry, excited, joy, pride, gratitude, relief, contentment.
We buy food we love to eat and share dinners with those we love.
It’s all about the emotion, connection and community.
Every Friday and Saturday night Jonathan Ross hosts a show on Classic FM that plays two hours of film scores – the latest releases and the perennial greats. They all create an emotional reaction.
You can listen to thousands of film soundtracks on Spotify or Amazon Music. The music without the film still moves us.
You know what you can’t do. Watch films without the music. No one wants to. Films without music rarely move us. They are boring without the emotion and tension that music brings and it’s all about emotion.
Life is all about the emotion.
It’s what we pay for. It’s what drives the news and engagement on social. It’s what fills the stories we tell ourselves and each other.
All the times we remember are times of high emotion. Life is driven by emotion, how do we maximise the joy and minimise the pain?
So today I ask a simple question – how do you make people feel?
